Modern printing processes include offset, gravure, flexo and inkjet printing. During ink transfer from ink barrels to printing units, feeding stability directly determines printing quality. Inks vary drastically in viscosity: water-based inks measure only a few mPa·s, while UV inks can reach tens of thousands mPa·s. Different ink types impose distinct requirements on pumps in terms of shear sensitivity, metering accuracy and chemical resistance.
With two product lines – high-viscosity DP Series and medium-low viscosity MR Series – JONSN delivers a complete fluid solution for the printing industry, covering barrel feeding, in-line circulation and precision metering.
High-viscosity UV and offset inks often lead to poor suction, insufficient delivery and shear degradation when processed with conventional diaphragm or centrifugal pumps. For low-viscosity water and solvent-based inks, minor internal leakage will cause inconsistent flow and color deviation. Production lines frequently switch ink types, requiring multiple pumps in parallel under traditional setups, which complicates systems and raises maintenance costs.
Diaphragm and peristaltic pumps generate inherent flow pulsation. At high printing speeds, this results in uneven ink film thickness, visible horizontal stripes and color inconsistency on finished products. UV inkjet printing and precision coating demand flow uniformity within ±1%.
Solvent-based inks contain ketones, esters, benzenes and other organic solvents that corrode pump seals and wetted parts. Traditional mechanically sealed pumps are prone to leakage during long-term operation, releasing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that pollute workshops and fail to meet increasingly strict environmental and occupational health standards.
Printing lines frequently switch orders and ink colors, requiring thorough removal of residual ink inside pumps. Conventional pumps feature complex structures with large dead volumes, leading to lengthy disassembly and cleaning downtime, lowering Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
Designed specifically for medium and high-viscosity fluids, the DP Series adopts high-strength multi-tooth gear sets and precision chambers for high volumetric efficiency. Its positive displacement design ensures stable ink flow unaffected by backpressure fluctuations.
Applications: UV inks, offset inks, screen printing inks, high-viscosity coatings
Displacement: 0.2–100 cc/r, covering lab sampling to industrial ink feeding
Advantages: Heat-treated and ground gears with optional DLC coating for enhanced wear and corrosion resistance
Performance: Low-pulsation output delivers uniform coating free of horizontal stripes; pressure resistance supports long pipeline circulation
The MR Series consists of six sub-models (MPG/MRA/MRB/MRC/MRE/MRF) for applications ranging from lab micro-feeding to large-volume industrial circulation. Fully magnetically driven with static O-ring sealing, these pumps eliminate leakage and VOC emissions. PEEK and zirconia ceramic gear shafts deliver outstanding solvent resistance. Minimal dead volume allows quick flushing during ink changeovers.
Applications: Water-based inks, solvent-based inks, cleaning solvents, varnishes
Flow Range: MPG 1–280 ml/min / MRA 100–2000 ml/min / MRB 400–4800 ml/min / MRC 0.8–14 L/min
Advantages: Repeat accuracy ±0.2%, pulsation-free continuous output; full magnetic sealing prevents VOC leakage
Performance: Color deviation controlled within ±0.5%; compliant with GMP/ISO cleanroom standards
